Kyle Grupp Wins WSOP Circuit Turning Stone Main Event Three Years After Near Miss

Kyle Grupp won the 2026 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Main Event at Turning Stone in New York. He took home $246,362 and his first Circuit gold ring. Grupp started the final heads-up match with fewer chips than Joel Cattelane but came back to win the biggest live poker prize of his career.
The $1,700 Main Event ran from October 22 to 26, with 996 entries and a prize pool of more than $1.5 million. That was well above its $1 million guarantee.
Seven players returned for the final day, with Grupp in fourth place. He knocked out Tina Panichi in sixth before facing Joel Cattelane for the title. Cattelane started with more than twice as many chips as Grupp, but Grupp came back to win.

Grupp told Poker.org that Daniel Wagner, who finished fourth, is “my good buddy.” Wagner was seated right next to him at the final table.
Grupp’s $246,362 win was his biggest live poker prize yet, beating the $165,000 he earned for finishing 54th in the 2025 WSOP Main Event. He also finished sixth in the 2025 WSOP International Circuit Montreal Main Event. According to Card Player, he’s now won more than $836,000 in live poker tournaments.
Grupp finished fourth in the 2023 Turning Stone Main Event after starting the final table with the most chips. He told Poker.org that Turning Stone is his home casino, where he used to play $400 tournaments while learning poker.
The win came after a tough month in Las Vegas, where Grupp struggled to cash in tournaments. Still, he felt good about his chances at Turning Stone and even told his friends he expected to do well.
Along with the $246,362 prize, Grupp received a $5,000 WSOP Paradise 2026 package. It includes entry into the WSOP Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty and four nights at Baha Mar in the Bahamas.
Grupp’s win gave him his first WSOP Circuit title after several strong finishes in major poker tournaments.
The $1,700 Turning Stone Main Event drew 996 entries and beat its $1 million guarantee. Both first and second place paid more than $160,000.
For Grupp, the win was special. Three years after finishing fourth at Turning Stone, he returned to his home casino and finally won his first gold ring.
