PartyPoker MILLIONS Online $20M Set, Las Vegas LIVE Announced

The tournament is in December, but the anticipation has already begun. The PartyPoker MILLIONS Online tournament will take place from December 1-10 with a $20 million prize pool guarantee.
There are some caveats, however. The buy-in is different than last year’s event, and there are other tournaments involved. It will still seek to be a massive event that breaks records, even its own, but there will be side events. Those details remain unclear.
In the meantime, there is a new PartyPoker tournament on the schedule, just announced and set for Las Vegas this summer. PartyPoker LIVE is hosting the MILLIONS Vegas Special Edition at the ARIA from June 28 to July 2, complete with a $5 million guarantee.

Let’s get to that LIVE action first.
MILLIONS Heads to Vegas
From the PartyPoker LIVE tour, a new US stop was just added, and it will take the action right to ARIA on the Las Vegas Strip.
The MILLIONS Vegas Special Edition is a singular tournament with a $10,300 buy-in and a $5 million prize pool guarantee. There will be two starting days, one entry allowed in each, but players can also buy-in directly during the first two levels on Day 2. This was a result of PartyPoker LIVE partner requests.
Players can begin winning their way into the high buy-in event at a discount through live satellites on Thursday, June 27. The action then begins on June 28 and runs through to a final table on July 2.

There will also be a PartyPoker LIVE player party for invited guests on the night of July 2.
PartyPoker LIVE President John Duthie noted, “The partnership with ARIA in Vegas is a significant step marking the first time PartyPoker LIVE has hosted a tournament in the United States. The poker team at ARIA is well known for being genuinely passionate about the game. We believe they see things the same way we do and that’s not all business, it is about listening to players and growing the game.”
Then Back Around the World
The US stop on the LIVE tour won’t affect the rest of the year’s action as the PartyPoker team takes its tournaments around the world.
After the Las Vegas event, the crew will take a break before heading to King’s Casino in the Czech Republic for the MILLIONS EUROPE, set for August 10-18. The Main Event will require a €10,300 buy-in and €5 million guarantee.
Then it’s back toward the Americas but only to get to the Caribbean for the Caribbean Poker Party. The Baha Mar Resort will host the series of events to culminate in the $10,300 buy-in Main Event from November 16-21. There will be a $10 million guarantee.
MILLIONS Online Details Thus Far
The online part of the MILLIONS action will manifest itself in a tournament later in the year, which will begin on Sunday, December 1, and it will run through Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
The direct buy-in for the tournament will be $10,300 with the goal of making it the largest $10K or higher buy-in online poker tournament in history. And it will guarantee a $20 million prize pool.

There will be a satellite program for players to win seats, along with promotions to include as many players as possible. It will also be a part of an “online festival, featuring tournaments suitable for players of all bankrolls, with some massive guarantees,” read the memo from PartyPoker.
Managing Director Tom Waters noted, “Following the success of last year’s MILLIONS Online, we’ve decided to keep the $20M guarantee; however, we wanted to bring the full MILLIONS live experience online and offer a host of side events alongside the Main Event, providing players with an exciting new online festival under the prestigious MILLIONS brand.”
A Few Years of Online Evolution
PartyPoker first hosted a MILLIONS Online tournament in 2017 with a $5 million guarantee. The total number of entries was 1,047, which pushed the prize pool to $5,135,000 and awarded winner Jonathan Van Fleet $1,027,000 for his victory.
The November 2018 MILLIONS Online took it a giant step further by offering a $20 million guarantee for the $5,300 buy-in. There were five starting flights, and they pulled together 4,367 entries for a total prize pool of $21,835,000. The last four players standing became millionaires, and it was Manuel “Sheparentao” Ruivo who claimed the title and $2,329,943.88 in prize money.
