Americas Cardroom to Host PKOSS May 9-24

When Americas Cardroom finishes one tournament series, it only means that the site is planning for another one. Or another big event is in progress. There is always something brewing.

Just last month, the 11th iteration of the Online Super Series Cub3d wrapped up after five intense weeks of hundreds of tournaments and more than $13M in prize pool payouts. Two weeks later, the High Five series ran through the first three weeks of April with another slew of events and more than $5M paid out.

And in the midst of all of that, Americas Cardroom was getting ready for its latest Venom tournament. It will be a PKO (progressive knockout) version with a $5M guarantee. The buy-in is $2,650 with reentry options, though many players earn their seats through bargain satellites. Players will have four starting days to enter – April 30, May 2, May 7, and May 9 – with the tournament then playing to a final table on May 11 and to a winner on May 12.

In the spirit of PKO and the popularity of bounty tournaments, ACR is combining PKO madness with its signature OSS product. That equals the PKOSS, set to kick off on May 9.

What We Know

The series will run May 9-25 and guarantee at least $25M in prize pools. There will be three Main Event tournaments and three events with multiple starting flights. In addition, the aforementioned Venom PKO will mix in with this as Day 1D of that tournament will take place on the opening day of the PKOSS.

The full schedule for the series is not yet available. However, we have the highlights. First on the list is the set of Main Events.

-May 5-9: $55 buy-in Kickoff NLHE PKO Main Event with 7 flights ($500K GTD)

-May 16-17: $630 buy-in NLHE Main Event ($1M GTD)

-May 23: $55 buy-in Main Event ($500K GTD)

And these are the big multi-flight (non-Main Event) tournaments in the series:

-May 8-25: $630 buy-in Multi-Flight NLHE with 16 flights ($2.5M GTD)

-May 8-24: $215 buy-in Multi-Flight NLHE PKO with 16 flights ($1M GTD)

-May 8-24: $16.50 buy-in Multi-Flight NLHE with 16 flights ($250K GTD)

More information will follow in the coming days.
