ACR Poker Introduces Turbo Boost Series Before Venom
Everyone should know by now that the Venom is coming up on ACR Poker. It is set to be the largest one yet, a high bar to meet for the already-popular flagship tournament of the Winning Poker Network. And while the satellites are popping and players are preparing for the Venom, there is a Turbo Boost series – complete with $2M in guarantees – on tap leading up to it.
Turbo Boost Mini-Series
In the week leading up to the start of the Venom, ACR Poker is hosting the Turbo Boost Mini-Series, a fast-paced schedule of tournaments.
Officially, there are 31 events, but many of those offer multiple versions, such as micro buy-in, low buy-in, medium buy-in, and high buy-in. This gives players the chance to participate for as little as $1.10, and even less if they take the satellite route to earn their entries.
In total, the April 7-13 series is offering $2M in guaranteed prize pools. There are some notable events in the lineup:
- Two Pot Limit Omaha events – #8 (low and high buy-ins) and #20 (low, medium, and high)
- Several hyper-turbo structures – #7 (low, medium, and high), #8 (low and high), and #29 (low, medium, and high)
- Many progressive knockout tournaments
- Event 38 – Super Bounty event with final table pays only
There are also two six-figure guarantees on tap. Though they reflect high buy-ins, there are satellites to offer seats at significant discounts:
- Event 4: $630 buy-in NLHE PKO ($200K GTD)
- Event 6: $215 buy-in NLHE PKO ($100K GTD)
Turbo Boost Leaderboard
There is no “main event” in this Turbo Boost series, but there is a unique leaderboard competition. There are two leaderboards – one for $33 buy-ins and lower, the other for $44 buy-ins and higher – with Venom prizes. The top five finishers on each leaderboard will each win a $2,650 Venom seat.
The only caveat for the Venom seats is that they must be used on Day 1A. That is Sunday, April 14, the day after the Turbo Boost Mini-Series ends.
Players earn points throughout the series for all in-the-money finishes. This puts them on the leaderboard and in contention for the Venom seats.
$12.5 Million Venom
After months of prepping and qualifying players, the biggest Venom in ACR Poker’s history is almost ready to begin. The $2,650 buy-in tournament is offering a $12.5M guarantee, ensuring that multiple final table players will become millionaires. The Venom schedule is:
- Sunday, April 14: Day 1A
- Thursday, April 18: Day 1B
- Sunday, April 21: Day 1C
- Thursday, April 25: Day 1D
- Sunday, April 28: Day 1E
- Monday, April 29: Survivors gather to play into the money.
- Tuesday, April 30: Playdown continues to the final table.
- Wednesday, May 1: Final table plays to a winner.
Every day starts at 1:05pm ET, with the sole exception of the final table, which will begin at 4:05pm ET.
Throughout the Venom action, there are three weeks of Venom Specials, tournaments that run April 14 through April 29. Buy-ins start at just $16.50 and climb to $1,050, though many of the tournaments require less than $100 to play.
That full schedule is on the ACR website, and players will find satellites to many of these tournaments in the lobby.
Venom Fever
As always, ACR Poker players can find numerous ways to get into the Venom without paying the full buy-in.
- Direct satellites offer 781 Venom seats
- Mega satellites starting with freerolls offer 668 Venom seats
