April Freerollers Win Big as ‘Superluck’ Gets Bad Beat!
This month’s Freerollers Open Final took place on Legal U.S. Poker Sites and saw ‘D1433’ take the title and top prize of $75. With $250 in free money given away, others such as ‘khinglay420’ and ‘Superluck’ were unfortunate to miss out, although they still won massive prizes with every prize added, and entry totally free. In total 20 freerollers made profit, with an exciting final battle for the title.
With the $250 monthly February finale joined by lucrative weekly events on LUSPS, four weeks of freeroll poker action on Legal U.S. Poker Sites saw even more people rewarded simply for coming along and having fun whilst playing, with a total of 40 weekly winners and 20 monthly winners meaning we gave away hundreds of dollars in April.
Winning money in a poker tournament is always sweet but its always sweeter when it cost nothing to enter. In April’s LUSPS Freerollers Finale, there were 20 winners, with some new names joining regulars on the site in the winner’s circle. Scraping into the money places in 20th position was ‘Paymud’, who was followed by ‘Pkachok’, ‘oakwar’, ‘Brownweed’ and ‘man2man’ in cashing for $2.50.
Winning $4 were players such as ‘Allmost’, ‘ABOKI’, ‘seefar’ and ‘Exodus’, before others such as ‘castro’ and ‘Ahweh’ took home $5. The money doubled to $10 for previous monthly player ‘Master’, who won money again, as well as ‘lajuk’ and ‘Chak’, who bowed out in 7th and 6th place respectively.
When ‘Addy101’ busted in fifth place for $12,50 with deuce-four, only the final four were left. That was when ‘Superluck’ decided to move all-in with pocket queens. A fine move, and a premium hand, but the timing was terrible, as ‘D1433’ had all the chips and was priced in to call with six-deuce. A board of K-6-3-6-4 was a heartbreaker for the at-risk Superluck, who lost to trip sixes to win $15 in fourth place.
In freeroll tournaments, the blinds move quickly and often, it can come down to who is prepared to get the chips in the middle. No-one won a freeroll event with a timid strategy and April’s LUSPS Freerollers Finale was no different.
With three players left, ‘bulong333’ moved all-in with jack-ten and the eventual winner, ‘D1433’, made a good fold with the dominated jack-eight. ‘khinglay420’ was going nowhere with ace-queen, however, and they held to send play heads-up.
While ‘bulong333’ had cashed for $25, the two biggest scores of the event were still up for grabs. That hand gave ‘khinglay420’ the chip lead with 75,400 chips to ‘D1433’ with 51,800. A series of small wins rewrote that script and left ‘khinglay420’ with the option holding a suited jack-ten of spades. They moved all-in and were swiftly called by ‘D1433’ with ace-three in the same suit.
After a flop of K-5-5, the at-risk ‘khinglay420’ was drawing to just six outs, and after a deuce on the turn, a seven on the river confirmed that ‘khinglay420’ was runner-up for $50 and ‘D1433’ won the top prize of $75 and the title of April LUSPS Freerollers Finale champion!

The month of April saw four weekly winners on Legal U.S. Poker Sites, each of whom won $20, with $75 given away in each weekly freeroll tournament. In the opening week, ‘Adorable’ won a result worthy of their excellent name as they conquered all to take the $20 top prize. In the final hand, their ace-nine eventually won against the king-ten of ‘baying’ though not until there was a sweat! A flop of T-6-5 put baying into the lead only for an ace on the turn to flip the script yet again and give Adorable.
There was a ‘niche’ win in the second week of April, as a player of that name won the day for $20, beating ‘2003’ heads-up. ‘HiDAN’ said goodbye in a painful exit in third place, winning $10 in the process. All-in with pocket fives against the ace-nine of the eventual winner, a nine on the flop doomed HiDAN to a third-placed finish.
While the winner of the final weekly event in April was ‘lsu’, who beat ‘zorg’ to win $20 top prize, it was the third weekly winner who grabbed the plaudits. That’s because it was the monthly finale’s 19th-placed player ‘Pkachok’ who took the title, winning the $20 when they beat ‘shevshenkp’ heads-up after the exit of ‘Thinkpad’.
After an exciting month’s action in April, where $250 of free money was handed out on Legal U.S. Poker Sites in the monthly event alone, May is going to be massive. There’s another $250 up for grabs in four weeks’ time, so make sure that you qualify today.
Good luck at the LUSPS felt in the Freerollers Open in May and we’ll be back here for a full recap of the action in four weeks’ time when a new champion will be crowned... unless no-on can stop the impressive ‘D1433’, that is!
