Americas Cardroom Sets OSS XVIII December 5-19

Americas Cardroom ACR OSS XVIII Many poker players have been traveling in the past few months. There was the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and all of the corresponding tournament series around Sin City. Other cardrooms around the country hosted tournaments and incentives to visit. But many more players were unable to travel and participate in those live events. Americas Cardroom has been using this time to add numerous features, events, and promotions. And the Winning Poker Network crew announced one last Online Super Series to wrap up the year. The 18th iteration of WPN’s flagship series will run December 5-19, just in time to wrap before the holidays. It will also be a good time to get in from the cold and windy weather, curl up with a warm laptop, and play some good ol’ poker.

OSS XVIII Basics

The full schedule is not yet available. But we do know enough to allow players to clear their schedules and plan for some big Sunday action. The 18th Online Super Series will play out December 5-19. There will be more than $15M in tournament guarantees. There will be four events with $1M guarantees each and one with a $2M guarantee. Several tournaments will offer multiple flights for entries. And there will be a plethora of satellites, including daily mega satellites for the major events. The schedule will offer Hold’em and Omaha tournaments, mostly the former, but the structures will vary. They will include knockouts, deep stacks, and turbos. The only specifics announced thus far are:
-Sunday, December 5: $215 buy-in OSS Kick-Off Day 2 with $1M GTD (Day 1 flights run all week) -Sunday, December 12: $630 buy-in OSS Main Event 1 with $1M GTD (Day 2 on December 13) -Sunday, December 19: $2,650 buy-in OS Main Event 2 with $1M GTD (Day 2 on December 20)
As for the multi-flight specials, there will be a $22 buy-in with $250K guaranteed, $215 buy-in PKO with $1M guaranteed, and a $630 buy-in with the promise of at least $2M in the prize pool. Each of these will host a Day 2 – for all Day 1 flight survivors – on Monday, December 20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zLoLBglsUY

New Features on ACR

Since some of us have been busy with WSOP work – ahem – Americas Cardroom has implemented some new features and upgraded its software more than once. A new feature is an add-on to the All-In options page (under Playing Tools in Settings). The Run It Twice option has been available for some time, but now, there is also a Play It Safe. If both players in an all-in hand have chosen to Run It Twice, the site multiplies the size of the pot by the players’ equity and allows insurance on the hand. Under the Responsible Gaming menu in Settings, the first of three sections launched to allow players to disable games. They’ll be removed from the lobby. The next updates are for self-exclusion purposes, to ban oneself from games for a particular number of days or permanently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbHYtTkXrhk One new perk of having money in an ACR account is the new ACR Travel Agency. Players can use the new tool to book their own poker travel or obtain the help of a VIP host, who can custom-tailor a vacation package. The player can pay for it through a player-to-player (P2P) transfer as the agency makes all necessary reservations. Speaking of live poker events, ACR recently became the official sponsor of the Enjoy casino and resort in Punta del Este, Uruguay. As a result of the new partnership, the two will be announcing some upcoming events at the resort. This also means that ACR players will have chance to win prize packages. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1435272241688846346?s=20 Finally, the Double Deuce is a new addition to the usual Sunday lineup. It costs only $22 to enter and guarantees a $100K prize pool. And there are many, many opportunities to get in and play through with a surviving stack. There are 35 starting flights each week, and those with chips at the end of a flight will return on Sunday at 5:30ET to play for the win.
