ACR Venom Fever Begins for October Venom PKO

There is time, say confident poker players. They don’t have to worry about winning a seat into the next Americas Cardroom Venom tournament now, as the first flight isn’t until October 20. They’ll satellite in at the last minute.

Oh, really?

Perhaps, a better strategy would be to start playing satellites at the beginning of October. If you win a seat, you can play again and win another…and another. Those will give you multiple bullets for the Venom PKO, which is a reentry event.

The bottom line is that players can start winning their Venom seats through Venom Fever beginning October 2, and they can start with just $32 to work up to that $2,650 seat. Or take a shot through the On-Demand Steps for as little as $0.10.

Venom PKO to Start October 20

The fifth-ever Venom PKO is the special edition of the Venom. The PKO – progressive knockout – version is a player favorite because they can collect player bounties by knocking out other players. Half of the $2,650 buy-in goes to the overall prize pool, but the other half goes to the bounties on each player’s head. Players can literally start winning money on the first hand of the tournament.

Earlier this year, a Venom PKO offered a $5M guarantee. But when the entries added up to 2,872, the prize pool soared to $7.18M. The ultimate winner was oneplusone from Morocco, who collected $814,498 – $503,318 prize money and $311,180 bounties – for the win.

The upcoming Venom PKO will run on Americas Cardroom and other Winning Poker Network sister sites. It will also have a $5M guarantee on its prize pool. The tournament schedule is as follows:

-Thursday, October 20:  Day 1A

-Sunday, October 23:  Day 1B

-Thursday, October 27:  Day 1C

-Sunday, October 30:  Day 1D

-Monday, October 31:  Day 2 for all survivors

-Tuesday, November 1:  Day 3 to play down to the final table

-Wednesday, November 2:  Day 4 to play the final table for the win

Venom Fever to Start October 2

We might be approaching flu season, but we are definitely on the doorstep of Venom Fever season. The satellites for the Venom PKO begin on October 2 and run through October 30, which is the last chance to play a flight of the tournament.

There are various levels of buy-ins and differing formats in Venom Fever, each with a number of guaranteed tickets up for grabs – tickets to the next level and finally tickets to the Venom. It’s easiest to show a few sample days of the schedule to provide an idea of what will be available.

Note that tickets bring you to the next level satellite and seats are right into the Venom.

Freerolls and Steps

The preferred way to win a seat to the Venom is, of course, through a freeroll. And there are plenty of them, as Americas Cardroom runs daily freerolls with tickets to satellites.

You can also start the Venom Steps for just $0.10. Or you can jump in at any step and climb from there. The steps are:

-Step 1 of 9:  $0.10 (10 tickets GTD)

-Step 2 of 9:  $0.41 (8 tickets GTD)

-Step 3 of 9:  $1.30 (7 tickets GTD)

-Step 4 of 9:  $3.80 (6 tickets GTD)

-Step 5 of 9:  $11 (5 tickets GTD)

-Step 6 of 9:  $30 (4 tickets GTD)

-Step 7 of 9:  $90 (3 tickets GTD)

-Step 8 of 9:  $280 (2 tickets GTD)

-Step 9 of 9:  $850 (2 seats GTD)

All of the steps run on demand, when there are enough players to run them. Of course, the lower buy-in steps run more frequently. There are also on-demand Skips Steps satellites:
