WSOP Continues with Circuit and Plans for Europe and Bahamas

The World Series of Poker Logo Summer camp may be over, but poker goes on. The biggest poker festival in the world runs each summer in Las Vegas, and when it wraps, the poker community usually takes a moment to breathe. Nearly two months of the World Series of Poker, along with other live tournament series running concurrently in other Vegas poker rooms, can be exhausting. As fast as poker players rush off to a vacation spot – or place of hibernation – after the summer of poker, the World Series of Poker inspires them to get right back to the tables. This year, the WSOP made a huge announcement as its 2023 WSOP summer series was in its last days. The team introduced a new WSOP Paradise to take place in December in the Bahamas. Before that, the WSOP Europe will take place in the Czech Republic. And already, the WSOP Circuit is underway – both in the United States and on the international circuit. Get out your calendars, check your airline miles, and start planning.

WSOP Circuit

The annual World Series of Poker Circuit series is one of the top mid-major poker series in the United States. By popular demand, there is also an international circuit. Each event winner receives a gold WSOPC ring. In addition, the Main Event winner and all-around series champion each win a seat to the season-ending WSOP Tournament of Champions, a freeroll with a $1M prize pool and a gold bracelet in the mix. This year, the WSOP wasted no time in kicking off the 2023-2024 Circuit season – the 19th in its history – with a start date at the first stop on the last day of the WSOP in Las Vegas. From the last season, the organizers added two new stops – Graton Casino in Rohnert Park, California; and Horseshoe Hammond in Hammond, Indiana. All US stops offer tournaments ranging from $250 buy-ins to a $1,700 Main Event. The WSOP encourages every Circuit casino to offer a seniors-only and ladies-only event alongside the other dozen tournaments. The United States WSOP Circuit schedule is as follows:
Tour Dates Tournament Location
Jul 19-30 Choctaw Durant (Oklahoma)
Aug 3-14 Harrah's Cherokee (North Carolina)
Aug 10-21 Graton Casino (Northern California)
Aug 17-28 Hard Rock Tulsa (Oklahoma)
Sep 7-18 Horseshoe Council Bluffs (Iowa)
Sep 28-Oct 9 Thunder Valley (Northern California)
Oct 5-16 Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago, Illinois)
Oct 12-23 Harrah's Pompano (Florida)
Oct 25-Nov 6 Choctaw Durant (Oklahoma)
Nov 2-13 Harvey's Lake Tahoe (Nevada)
Nov 9-20 Grand Victoria Casino (Chicago, Illinois)
Nov 23-Dec 4 Harrah's Cherokee (North Carolina)
Jan 3-14 Choctaw Durant (Oklahoma)
Jan 11-22 Thunder Valley (Northern California)
Jan 18-29 Horseshoe Tunica (Mississippi)
Feb 1-12 Harrah's Pompano (Florida)
Feb 15-26 Harrah's Cherokee (North Carolina)
Feb 29-Mar 11 Horseshoe Hammond (Chicago, Illinois)
Mar 7-18 Hard Rock Tulsa (Oklahoma)
Mar 14-25 Turning Stone Casino (New York)
Mar 21-Apr 1 Horseshoe Las Vegas (Nevada)
Apr 4-15 Grand Victoria Casino (Chicago, Illinois)

May 2-13 Harrah's Cherokee (North Carolina)
May 9-20 Caesars Southern Indiana (Indiana)
On the international side, the WSOP Circuit kicked off its much smaller tour in London on July 27. This year, it seems that Australia, Uruguay, and Netherlands are off the schedule, as Estonia and Italy are among the most recent additions. The full WSOP International Circuit schedule is as follows:
Tour Dates Tournament Location
Jul 27-Aug 13 JW Marriott in London (UK)
Sep 14-24 Olympic Park Tallin (Estonia)
Sep 20-Oct 10 King's Casino Rozvadov (Czech Republic)
Nov 25-Dec 3 Casino Sanremo (Italy)

Jan 10-22 Deerfoot Casino Calgary (Canada)
Jan 12-21 Es Saadi Marrakesh Resort (Morocco)
Mar 12-20 Unique Hotel Sao Paulo (Brazil)

WSOP Europe

The World Series of Poker Europe is a big attraction each year, as many players from Europe, Asia, and Africa find it easier to access the Czech Republic than the United States. There are also fewer tax hurdles for most players, and some of them also feel more welcome than in the American-dominated summer series. The WSOP Europe will be at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, once again. The series will offer guarantees on every prize pool and run October 25 to November 15. There will be 15 bracelet events on the schedule, including the €10K buy-in Main Event with its €5M guarantee. The full WSOPE schedule is as follows:

WSOP Paradise

This is the newest offering from the World Series of Poker – WSOP Paradise. Through its partnership with GGPoker, the WSOP chose to offer a bracelet series in the Bahamas, specifically at Atlantis Paradise Island (former home of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure). The dates are December 3-14. Similar to the WSOP Europe, this new WSOP series will offer 15 events, each with a prize pool guarantee and a total of $50M in guarantees across the schedule. The plan is to qualify 1,000 players online at GGPoker and equip them with prize packages to make the trip to the Bahamas. An Atlantis representative revealed that the resort will be unveiling a “multimillion-dollar transformation of the Atlantis Casino complemented by renovated guestrooms at The Royal and Michelin star chef dining experiences in time for the WSOP Paradise event.” While the full schedule is yet to be released, there is some information about tournaments that will be available. The following will be on that schedule:
-$5K buy-in Main Event ($15M GTD) -$1,500 buy-in Mystery Bounty ($5M GTD) -$50K buy-in ($2M GTD) -$100K buy-in (minimum $1M GTD) -at least one $1K buy-in -two PLO events (each with seven-figure guarantees) $25K buy-in GGMillion$ ($10M GTD)
