Two Weeks of Venom Fever Remain on ACR

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on July 15th, 2021
WPN and ACR Venom Most poker players already have the tournament on their virtual calendars. The Venom on the Winning Poker Network begins on July 23, though the four starting days spread out to August 2. And Venom Fever is spreading like a pandemic. Perhaps that isn’t the best analogy. But you know what I mean. Americas Cardroom is bringing players to the satellite tables by the thousands, everyone wanting the chance to play in the largest Venom tournament in the network’s history. Venoms have been running since the summer of 2019, starting with a $5M guarantee on the prize pool and increasing with almost each iteration of the tournament. The largest thus far was in January-February of this year, when the Winning Poker Network put an $8M guarantee on it. Even then, the actual number of entries put the prize pool at $9,435,000. This time, WPN is outdoing itself and taking a risk. The upcoming Venom is guaranteeing $10M in the prize pool. It will play out on the following schedule with every day except the final one starting at 1pm ET:
-Friday, July 23:  Day 1A -Sunday, July 25:  Day 1B -Friday, July 30:  Day 1C -Sunday, August 1:  Day 1D -Monday, August 2:  Day 2 (approximately 11 hours of play) -Tuesday, August 3:  Day 3 (playdown to final table) -Wednesday, August 4:  Day 4 (final table playdown to winner)
The buy-in is $2,500 + $150, and players can reenter to play multiple days. But for those who can’t afford the buy-in, there are ways around that. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1406756284175732741?s=20

Venom Fever

The satellite system for players wanting to compete in the Venom is made for everyone. Every one of the satellites offers a guarantee of at least one ticket. For as little as $30, players can win tickets to a MEGA satellite or right into the Venom. Let’s begin with players who have little to nothing in their bankrolls. They can start the journey for free.
-1. Play one of several Venom Fever Freerolls daily with guaranteed seats into a $1.40 or $2.20 Super Satellite on the following day. Or buy directly into those Supers. -2. Play a $1.40 Super to get into an $8.80 Super or $2.20 to get into a $27.50 one. There are many options each day. -3. Play a $27.50 Super to get into a $215 MEGA satellite. Those offer guarantees of seats into the actual $2,650 buy-in Venom.
There are numerous paths for players of all skill levels and bankrolls. All in all, Americas Cardroom is guaranteeing 886 seats into the Venom through Venom Fever. The full schedule shows satellite action every day of the week, mostly in the afternoons and evenings. But as an example, here is what the weekend holds in MEGA satties alone:
Saturday, July 17 --12pm: $32 MEGA with 12-minute levels (5 tickets GTD) --3:30pm: $215 MEGA with 12-minute levels (10 tickets GTD) --5:30pm: $95 MEGA with 8-minute levels (8 tickets GTD) --5:30pm: $32 MEGA with 8-minute levels (5 tickets GTD) Sunday, July 18 --10:45am: $95 MEGA with 12-minute levels (10 tickets GTD) --12:30pm: $290 MEGA Turbo with 5-minute levels (10 tickets GTD) --1pm: $32 MEGA with 8-minute levels (5 tickets GTD) --5pm: $290 MEGA with 12-minute levels (10 tickets GTD) --6pm: $95 Beast Sit & Crush MEGA with 15-minute levels (20 tickets GTD)
The full Venom Fever schedule is on the ACR website. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1413551150775799812?s=20

Summer of Tournament Guarantees

For those wanting to grind – or crush, depending upon how you look at it – throughout these summer months, there are more than a few ways to do this. In fact, Americas Cardroom offers $95M in tournament guarantees through July and August alone. With an expanded daily tournament schedule, there are more guarantees than ever before - $7.9M each week, to be exact:
-Mondays: $758K GTD -Tuesdays: $1M GTD -Wednesdays: $1M GTD -Thursdays: $989K GTD -Fridays: $770K GTD -Saturdays: $702K GTD -Sundays: $2.65M GTD
Check the Americas Cardroom tournament page for listings and a downloadable schedule, the latter particularly helpful for sorting by buy-in or start time.
