PartyPoker US Online Open Starts Today in New Jersey

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on June 22nd, 2020
WPT Online Poker Open in New Jersey with PartyPoker Earlier this month, the World Poker Tour announced that it was teaming up with PartyPoker and BorgataPoker for the first-ever WPT Online Poker Open powered by PartyPoker US Network. The tournament is set to run on June 28 – next Sunday – with a $300K guarantee on the prize pool. The reentry tournament will require a $400 buy-in and run on NJ.PartyPoker.com, BorgataPoker.com, and BetMGMPoker.com. Satellites have been available and will continue to run until the start of the WPT Online Poker Open next weekend. Qualifiers start at just $5. But there’s more! The entire series connected with the tournament begins today, June 22. Let’s get to those details.

PartyPoker US Network Online Open

The entire series on the New Jersey PartyPoker site is designated as the PartyPoker US Network Online Open. That series begins today, as mentioned and runs through the weekend. There are 12 online poker events in all. https://twitter.com/WPT/status/1275122652068278273?s=20 Since the cases of Covid-19 continue to linger, especially in states like New Jersey, casinos are only beginning to reopen after shutting down completely in mid-March. And for the few casinos that might offer action in their poker rooms, tournaments like the famous Borgata Poker Open remain many months in the future. Thus, the online series runs in its place. The series offers this schedule to its players:
Event 1 / June 22:  $5 PLO Hi ($1K GTD) Event 2 / June 22:  $10 NLHE ($2,500 GTD) Event 3 / June 23:  $20 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($2K GTD) Event 4 / June 23:  $109 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($7,500 GTD) Event 5 / June 24:  $5 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($1,500 GTD) Event 6 / June 24:  $215 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($20K GTD) Event 7 / June 25:  $10 NLHE ($2,500 GTD) Event 8 / June 26:  $5 NHLE w/unlimited reentries ($2K GTD) Event 9 / June 26:  $215 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($15K GTD) Event 10 / June 27:  $10 NLHE ($2,500 GTD) Event 11 / June 27:  $320 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($15K GTD) Event 12 / June 28:  $20 NLHE w/unlimited reentries ($2K GTD)

Something for Everyone

The series offers something for New Jersey players of nearly every buy-in level this week. Of course, the winner of the WPT Online Poker Open will win the biggest share of any prize pool in this series, including a trophy and a World Poker Tour VIP experience. That prize package will be worth $11K, comprised of $600 in travel expenses and a $10,400 buy-in to the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas this December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=lPWUvldMM-U&feature=emb_logo
