WSOP Europe Adds Five Events to Schedule

WSOP Europe Adds Five Events to Schedule

The World Series of Poker Europe will begin little more than one month from now. And it will now be larger than anticipated with five events added.

When the 2019 WSOP Europe schedule was first announced in April, there were 10 gold bracelet events that were to promise €14 million in prize pool guarantees. This was consistent with the 2018 WSOP Europe schedule, which offered 10 events and €13 million in guarantees.

An August 30 bulletin from the World Series of Poker, however, expanded the schedule to include 15 official gold bracelet events. And the cumulative prize pool guarantees now total more than €22 million.

The series will still take place during the same time frame as originally planned – October 13 to November 4 – but will give players more options and a wider range of tournament action.

Expansion and Enhancement

It will be the third year of the WSOP Europe at King’s Casino Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

WSOP officials coordinated with King’s staff to meet player demands. King’s owner Leon Tsoukernik, who is also a regular at high-stakes poker tournaments, said he spoke to players who felt the upcoming WSOP-E schedule was too lean.

“We heard the feedback and are happy to add some mixed games and some bigger buy-in tournaments in order to encourage more players to make the trip,” said Tsoukernik. “After hosting some big events here at King’s recently, players insisted to me they would come back to WSOP Europe if we added a few additional tournaments.”

So, they did.

WSOP Vice President Jack Effel added, “We were able to find some room to add some exciting new events that will drive bigger prize pools and keep players busy.” He emphasized that the overall dates of the series have not changed.

More Action at King’s Before and After WSOPE

King’s Casino will actually already be swimming in poker waters by the time the WSOP Europe begins.

On September 26, the WSOP International Circuit will arrive to host 15 gold ring events and offer more than €2 million in tournament guarantees.

In addition, the Fall Festival will offer other tournaments throughout the 40 days from September 26 to November 4. For instance, there will be a daily €100 NLHE turbo tournament, some weekday morning NLHE turbo bounty and turbo freezeouts, and a special €100 buy-in tournament each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.

It will all wrap with a €100 WSOP Europe 2019 Farewell tournament on November 4.

There will also be satellites to most of the events on the WSOP Circuit and WSOPE schedule. And cash games will always be available.
