ACR Prepares the Dream for Micro Stakes Players

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on February 6th, 2023
The Dream ACR WPN Sometimes, low-stakes players can feel left out of big tournaments with their gargantuan guarantees. The work required to start at super-low buy-ins and satellite their way into one of those big events is often overwhelming and time-consuming. And for micro-stakes players, the task often seems even more difficult. The Winning Poker Network has something for those players. The Dream is a tournament with a $2.50 buy-in and a $100K guarantee. No kidding. Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker, and other skins on the Winning Poker Network will all host the Dream this month.

What is the Dream?

The Dream is a new concept, a new tournament that will give micro-stakes players the chance to compete for a wildly large prize pool. In fact, the $2.50 buy-in tournament has a $100K guarantee. The event is also running in a PKO (progressive knockout) format, so there will be bounties on each player. Those who eliminate others reap the rewards of that bounty. That buy-in of $2.50 is not the only way to play, however. There are Blitz satellites for as low as $0.11 to award tickets to the Dream for a fraction of the already-minimal buy-in. The best thing is that players have many, many chances to play. Starting flights – also known as Day 1s – start on February 5 and run through February 26. In all, there will be 22 flights for players to get in on the action and set their Day 2 stacks. The last of the satellites will run early on Sunday, February 26, and survivors from all of the satellites will gather at the tables on February 26 to play well into the money and then down to the winner. WPN estimates that more than 1,170 players will be paid in the end. In addition, those who love knockout tournaments can also get into two events on February 26.
