WSOP 2022 Day 6: Housewarming Crushes Expectations

WSOP 2022 Day 6 The word of the day yesterday was wow. I said it and heard it everywhere in reference to the ever-increasing numbers of entries in Event 5, better known as the Housewarming. By the end of Day 1C (the third of four flights on Saturday), there were already nearly 13K entries in the $500 buy-in tournament. The prize pool was already over $5.3M and past the $5M guarantee. And everyone knew that Day 1D, the last chance for players to enter or reenter, was going to be the biggest flight yet. The numbers started pouring in as soon as play began. The initial number was around 4,435. Within an hour, it grew to 5,129. The next hour had it up to 6,049. After the second break, the number was 6,831, and it was up to 7,179 just a few minutes before the close of registration. Finally, the Day 1D figure came in at 7,268. That brought the final event total to 20,080 entries and the prize pool past $8.4M. Wow.

Event 5: $500 NLHE Housewarming

As just mentioned, the final numbers are in: more than 20K entries and an $8.4M prize pool. https://twitter.com/Miguel_Fiesta/status/1533542229410607104?s=20&t=E5lPQH_39t8xS4nVKX4bNA With the initial flights in the books and the numbers tallied, it is time for the survivors of those brutal first days to return on Monday to play for the big money. Approximately 900 players will do just that, having already secured payouts of at least $801 each and now playing to survive.
