In the United States, players only have access to PokerStars if they live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Michigan. And those sites are not yet connected, so the player pools are limited. American players cannot access the global PokerStars-dot-com website from inside of the US. But there are times that poker players just have to follow the Stars. They have to go where PokerStars is.
There are two reasons to do just that in the coming weeks.
One is to jet over to Monte Carlo and play the EPT Monte Carlo. The last one that happened did so in May 2019. Then, the unfortunate thing (that thing being the pandemic) cancelled live poker for 2020 and 2021. Now, it’s back. And the 2022 EPT Monte Carlo kicks off on April 28.
The other reason SCOOP. The 2022 Spring Championship of Online Poker is set to run May 8 to June 1. It will be filled with 318 tournaments and guaranteed to pay out at least $78.5M. PokerStars is also adding $1M in extra value. That’s kind of a big deal.
EPT Monte Carlo: April 28 – May 7
PokerStars is hosting the long-awaited return of the EPT Monte Carlo, technically called the PokerStars European Poker Tour presented by Monte-Carlo Casino ®.
The full series begins at the Sporting Monte-Carlo on April 28 and runs through May 7. Players need only be 18 to participate. And it should be no surprise that there is a dress code – casual but no sportswear.
The venue will host a plethora of cash games, with No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha starting at €2/€5, Stud and Draw games starting at €5/€10. Players can also request Chinese Poker or mixed games.
The tournament series is a mix of EPT and FPS (France Poker Series) events, the latter offering lower buy-in opportunities. That full schedule, minus qualifiers and satellites, is as follows:

PokerStars SCOOP: May 8 – June 1
Another reason to travel abroad in the coming weeks is the annual Spring Championship of Online Poker. PokerStars just revealed the massive schedule and details.
The full series will run May 8 through June 1. There are 318 tournaments in total, as each of the 107 events offers low, medium, and high buy-in options. Buy-ins for the series start as low as $2.20 and get as high as $25K. Put them altogether, and there is a cumulative guarantee of $78.5M.
In lieu of typing up the entirety of the massive schedule, I’ll just put out some highlights and direct everyone to the PokerStars Blog for the full listing. On that same Sunday, May 29, SCOOP will offer a special single-day tournament for women only. The three versions of that one will be:
Finally, another highlight of this 2022 SCOOP is that PokerStars is adding $1M in value. It is adding $250K worth of SCOOP tickets in the Pick-a-Box game, $300K in Fast Track satellites, $100K in leaderboard prizes, and more in Special Edition Spin & Go tournaments.
