Americas Cardroom Prepares for Largest Venom Tournament

Americas Cardroom The Venom

As June comes to a close, another series ends as well. But Americas Cardroom continues running bomb pots during special hours each day, and the site also prepares for its largest tournament of the year. The Venom with its $7 million guarantee begins in less than one month, and opportunities to win seats into the event are aplenty.

Busy Tournament Month: June

The latest iteration of the Online Super Series – OSS XVII – kicked off on June 14 and ran a whirlwind series through this weekend. There were 150 tournaments in 15 days and a little matter of $15 million in prize pool guarantees.

Of all of the events, there were three major ones, one on each Sunday and each with a $1M guarantee. Those events did quite well, and the one finishing today produced these numbers:

OSS Event 142:  $2,500 NLHE

Entries:  561

Prize pool:  $1,402,500 (well over $1M guarantee)

Players paid:  63

1st place prize:  $266,475

Bomb Pots Find Happy Hours

Last month, Americas Cardroom introduced bomb pots to live cash games during daily happy hours. It offered a bit of excitement in those games, as the bomb forced everyone to put in an extra blind in that hand instead of a preflop bet.

Starting on June 20, bomb pots are now dropping at all cash game tables from 9am to 10am ET and 6pm to 7pm daily. Every hour, bomb pots will drop at least six times.

This schedule will run through Friday, July 17, at which point ACR will inform players as to the future of bomb pots per player feedback.

The Venom Approaches

What started as a one-time tournament has turned into one that keeps growing. The Venom is an online event with numerous starting days and a massive guarantee.

The first Venom ran in July 2019 with a $5 million guarantee, and the prize pool ended up hitting $6,382,500. That prompted ACR to offer another one in December 2019 with a $6 million guarantee. The final prize pool in that one climbed to $6.74 million.

The latest Venom is fast approaching, as it begins on July 24 with its $7 million guarantee for a $2,650 buy-in. The schedule will be as follows:

Day 1A:  Friday, July 24 at 1pm ET

Day 1B:  Sunday, July 26 at 1pm ET

Day 1C:  Friday, July 31 at 1pm ET

Day 1D:  Sunday, August 2 at 1pm ET

Day 2:  Monday, August 3 at 1pm ET

Day 3:  Tuesday, August 4 at 1pm ET

Day 4:  Final table on Wednesday, August 5 at 5pm ET

ACR has provided numerous satellites for players to win their seats on the cheap.

Starting yesterday, there are now weekly Sit & Crush satellites with 20 Venom seats guaranteed. Players can buy in to that satellite for $95 or earn points through weekly rake races.

The latest promotion offering Venom seats involves the Venom Cyclones, which are three-handed fast-fold poker satellites. They begin at just $0.11, and players climb levels with every 5,000 chips, with the ninth level as the highest. ACR began running these special Venom Cyclones on June 24.

The Venom tab is where to go from the tournament lobby to find the opportunities listed in this chart.
