From 888poker LIVE to the European Poker Tour, this is the year that they return from their pandemic-induced hiatus. Considering Europe was one of the hardest hit parts of the world, it has been most difficult to plan the return of those events.
While partypoker LIVE puts its 2022 schedule together, there are two events sponsored by partypoker set for February and April. At the same time, PokerStars is preparing to host its first European Poker Tour event since the pandemic hit. After trying for an EPT Prague in December 2021 and having to postpone it because of the Delta variant, PokerStars has set a schedule for the series in early March. But 888poker LIVE had scheduled and went through with its London series in January. With that as a success, 888poker is heading there again this month.
888poker LIVE London Twice
Beginning on January 6, the 888poker LIVE Festival hosted 12 days of poker tournaments at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino (the VIC). There were nine official tournaments, which garnered 1,398 entries and awarded £1,032,168 in prize pools. The Main Event required only an £888 buy-in. The five starting flights delivered 642 entries and a £513,600 prize pool. Bhavin Khatri won the tournament for £126,340.
With that one in the books, they’re ready for another. The 888poker LIVE Weekend will take place at the VIC February 17-20. And the special guest will be the newest 888poker ambassador, Chris Eubank Jr. There will be two tournaments featured in this Weekender.
Event 1: Players qualify via 888poker online daily freerolls through February 11. The top finishers will win seats to the special tournament featuring Chris Eubank Jr. at the final table. There will be a prize pool of £10K for the 45-player live SNG on February 18. In addition, Eubank will have a £10K bounty on his head.

Event 2: £444 buy-in 888poker Weekend Live with four starting flights February 17-19 and Day 2 set for February 20. There will be unlimited reentries and late registration.
Both events will stream live on 888pokerTV on Twitch.
EPT Prague Finally
In October 2021, PokerStars took the European Poker Tour to Sochi, a popular poker tour stop these days. They completed the series, which led to the planning of the fan-favorite EPT Prague. There was not yet a full schedule for the December 8-19 lineup when organizers had to put it on hold. Late November showed only increasing Delta numbers and reissued restrictions, enough to prompt a postponement.
The first month of 2022 brought better news, as Covid-19 cases decreased once again, this time amidst high vaccination rates in Europe. And it looks like the rescheduled EPT Prague set for March will go ahead. PokerStars is confident enough to have released a schedule of events.
The full festival will run March 5-16 at King’s Casino Prague in the Hilton Prague. This is schedule of EPT trophy events minus the qualifiers.

At this time, players do not need proof of vaccination but must submit to a temperature scan upon entering the casino. They must also wear a respirator (KN95) face mask when in the casino and playing anything, including poker.
However, keep in mind that these restrictions may change. In fact, the entirety of the event is subject to change if health conditions take a turn.
