It is one of the most anticipated days in the poker year. Players and fans alike ask for the schedule, the details of live and online tournaments for the summer series, for months prior to its release each year. And on February 23, 2022, the World Series of Poker revealed the schedule and other important information for the 2022 WSOP.
In mid-November 2021, the WSOP revealed the bookend dates of the next series: May 31 to July 19. They confirmed the new location – Bally’s and Paris on the Las Vegas Strip – and Vince Vaughn as the Master of Ceremonies.
Today, the World Series delivered the details to tie it all together.
When and Where
The official dates remain the same, essentially. The only change is that the 2022 WSOP will wrap on July 20, one day later than predicted.
The 2022 WSOP will be back to its regular summertime schedule, complete with the Main Event taking place in the first half of July.
Everything will happen at two neighboring Caesars Entertainment properties: Paris and Bally’s. The latter will soon transform into Horseshoe Las Vegas. Some of that transformation will take place prior to the start of the WSOP.
Poker action will take place in both the Paris and Bally’s/Horseshoe convention areas, which will be the largest space available to the WSOP in its 53-year history. It will provide more than 200,000 square feet of space and room for 600 poker tables. At this point, the totality of the logistics is not available, but the main cage will be located at the Paris, and the TV set for filming final tables will be in the Bally’s Event Center.
There is an indoor walkway connecting the two casinos, and they share a parking garage. More information about WSOP parking will be revealed in the coming months.
WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart called this upcoming WSOP a historic one because of the move to the Las Vegas Strip and the size of the venue. He also predicted this to be one of the most anticipated, likely because of the pandemic disruptions of the past two years. Covid-19 forced the cancellation of the live 2020 WSOP and restricted the 2021 WSOP via mask and vaccination mandates, as well as the limited ability for non-North American players to travel.
Live Schedule
There will be 88 tournaments at Bally’s/Horseshoe and Paris, plus a Tournament of Champions to wrap the series in mid-July. Note that the Main Event is highlighted below.

Online Schedule
There are 14 online bracelets events on the schedule. Some show availability only in Nevada and New Jersey, which currently share player pools via the multi-state online poker agreement. One tournament is set for Pennsylvania only, since it is not a part of the agreement.
However, half of the events are scheduled to run in Nevada, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It appears that the hope is to see Pennsylvania join the interstate poker agreement very soon. If that happens and the WSOP is able to connect all three player pools in time for the WSOP, they can share those events. If that doesn’t happen, it appears that Pennsylvania events will run alongside – but separate from – the Nevada-New Jersey events.
Also, since the WSOP has yet to launch a poker site in Michigan, there are no events for players in that state. Of course, that could change in the coming months.

Masks and Vaccines
As it stands now, there is no mask mandate in Las Vegas. If conditions remain as they are today, there will be no masks required at the WSOP. In addition, the WSOP will not require vaccine verification to play in the tournaments or cash games.
Of course, the coronavirus pandemic has shown itself to be quite unpredictable. Should there be another spike in cases, there is a chance that Nevada, Clark County, or Caesars could reimplement some type of restrictions or mandates. Undoubtedly, everyone is crossing their fingers to return to the WSOP of pre-pandemic times.
WSOP Registration
As was the case with the past years of WSOP action at the Rio, Paris and Bally’s/Horseshoe are part of the Caesars Entertainment family of casinos. This means players must possess a Caesars Rewards card to play. These are easy to obtain online or at any Caesars property. To do so at the time of the WSOP, there will be cages located in the Champagne Ballroom (in the Le Centre Des Conventions at Paris) to register for a new card. Those who had previously registered or done so online may obtain a reprint of their card at any Caesars Rewards kiosk.
Registration will open in May, with an exact date to be announced later.
Players will again be able to register online for WSOP events. In fact, the WSOP encourages them to do so to cut down on lines at registration desks. Each player must validate their identity – photo ID and Caesars Rewards card – at the Champagne Ballroom. In the meantime, players can use the BravoPokerLive.com website or app to register, beginning April 15. Then, they can visit any kiosk at Paris or Bally’s throughout the WSOP to print their seat cards.
Those who want to register for events in person may continue to do so in the Champagne Ballroom or at other cages throughout the convention centers. The main registration area will open at 9am on Tuesday, May 31, the first day of action. It will be open 24 hours per day throughout Sunday, July 17.
Buy-ins and Payouts
Players can register for WSOP events with cash, wire transfers, or cashiers’ checks in person, as well as Paris or Bally’s gaming chips, Paris tournament lammers, or tournament buy-in credits. They can use credit or debit cards – Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express – in person or online, as well as ACH transfers directly from bank accounts.
As in the past, players can establish WSOP tournament accounts via the BravoPokerLive app or website. They must verify their identity at the main cage in the Champagne Ballroom first, then transfer funds into the online account to easily pay for tournaments without delay.
Those who cash in or win a tournament must respond to the main cage in the Champagne Ballroom. At that point, they can request their payouts in cash, wire transfer, casino chips, check, or direct deposit to their online tournament account.
All players winning more than $5K net of the event buy-in must complete a tax form at the main cage. Players living in countries with a non-tax treaty may be subject to a 30% withholding tax.
