The summer of poker in Las Vegas just got busier. The Orleans just got in on the action by releasing its 2022 Orleans Summer Open schedule.
Prior to this one, we had the following:-World Series of Poker (WSOP)-Wynn Summer Classic-Venetian DeepStack Championship-Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series-Aria Poker ClassicThere is a reason that Las Vegas is the “mecca” of poker and why players do everything they can to be there in the summer. The last two years weren’t the same – not even close – but the old schedule is back on track. The World Series of Poker built the walls of the summer house, the Wynn and Venetian came in with big series, Aria posted its daily action, and the Golden Nugget threw some spice into it. The Orleans now adds its own decorative flair.
Barring any surprise series from other Las Vegas poker rooms, this Orleans Summer Open will round out the summer poker opportunities for Las Vegas in 2022.
Off the Strip
The Orleans is a little bit of an outlier each year because the casino is located off the Strip. (The Rio was off-Strip, too, but that was different.) (The Golden Nugget is on Fremont Street and not the Strip, but it’s all on the same route, basically.) (Too many parentheses?) The casino is nearly two miles down Tropicana Boulevard from the Strip. However, many players love the poker room and its series. It often has lower buy-ins than Strip casinos, more non-Hold’em events, and some players like to get away from the Strip.
So, the Orleans Poker Open offers six weeks of 79 tournaments from May 31 to July 10.
Not every tournament offers a guarantee, but many of them do. In total, the guarantees exceed $3.5M.
