Nominees Revealed for 17 Global Poker Awards

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on February 6th, 2023
Global Poker Awards 2023 The 4th Annual Global Poker Awards are little less than a month away. GPI (Global Poker Index) and THM (The Hendon Mob) will present the ceremony in coordination with PokerGO. And it will take place at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. In total, members of the poker community will receive 29 awards. Several award winners have already been determined. The GPI rankings already revealed Stephen Song as the Player of the Year and the Mid-Major Player of the Year, and Cherish Andrews earned the Female Player of the Year award. Other awards will go to people chosen by a group of individuals with GPI and THM with decades of experience in the game. They will decide the Poker ICON, GPI Award of Merit, The Hendon Mob Award, and Best Charitable Initiative.

By the Fans

Public voting is a big part of the Global Poker Awards. Four categories are decided by public votes, and they are open for voting now. One category is the People’s Choice for Poker Personality. That one is still in the submission round. Anyone can write in a nomination for their favorite poker personality of last year, and the voting will end at 11pm Pacific Time on Monday, February 6. The four people with the most votes will then go to a public round of voting February 7-13. There are then three more categories that need to be whittled down to just a handful of finalists. Those are currently:
