LUSPS October Freerollers Open Final Sees ‘Abbyrex’ Win $180 Top Prize

October’s Legal U.S. Poker Sites Freerollers Open was a massive one. The month-end finale saw ‘Abbyrex’ win the top prize of $180 as a total of $500 was paid out to the top nine players. With all of the $500 prize pool free money given away to our LUSPS Freerollers every month, the battle was intense and action dramatic as 82 players fought to reach the money and the nine-handed final table before playing down to a winner.

Nine New Players

After a thrilling September finale saw several players who had made the cut before reach the latter stages, the nine-handed October final table feature new names. With 82 qualifiers making the final night’s thrilling denouement, both ‘agbabiaka’ (9^th) and ‘Abbyz’ (8^th) cashed for $10.

Soon, others were following them from the felt, with ‘Noorktk’ winning $20 in seventh place, and ‘supervpn’ cashing for $25 in sixth. After the amusingly named ‘F*cksatan’ left in fifth for $35, ‘Aquamaster’ shoved with king-nine of hearts and was called ‘hen’ with ace-jack of diamonds and a bigger stack.

The flop of A-5-4 immediately gave Aquamaster a problem, with only one heart on the board and top pair with his opponent. Consecutive deuces on turn and river sent play three-handed as Aquamaster cashed for $50 in fifth place.

Soon, play was heads-up, as ‘Sungba’ busted in third place for $70. Ultimately, the best hand lost, as the at-risk player was all-in holding ace-eight, with Abbyrex hoping for the knockout with king-six. A flop of J-6-4 immediately paired up the biggest stacked player but a seven on the turn meant Sungba was drawing to ten outs, with any five, eight or ace a saviour. Sadly for him, another jack on the river signified his exit instead.

Abbyrex Dominates the Decider

Heads-up, Abbyrex held a slim lead, with 39,887 chips to hen’s stack of 32,115. They grew that lead until the eventual runner-up had only enough to complete the big blind and did so with king-nine hoping to double-up. Unfortunately for hen, Abbyrex had ace-king, the dominating hand, and across a board of T-7-5-3-T, they held with ease to become the October LUSPS Freerollers Open champion, winning $180 for absolutely no buy-ins!

As ‘hen’ took home $100 in second place, it was still a terrific night for them, and all the finalists, who shared a prize pool of $500 of free money!

November Majors on the Horizon

Starting in November, we will be intruding some new daily and weekly ‘majors’. There are five daily tournaments, four weekly tournaments and of course, the month-ending Legal U.S. Poker Sites Freerollers Open to choose from... or play them all! In the daily tournaments, each of the top three receive a ticket to the finale, with cash prizes on offer too. Just the other day, ‘Faster’ won the $20 top prize, with ‘Gwagon’ ($15) and ‘Conway’ ($10) both taking home double-figure prizes and a ticket too.

Daily events are taking place this month every day except on November 8^th, 15^th, 22^nd, 29^th and 30^th, with the weekly tournaments scheduled for the first four of those dates and the monthly finale taking place on November 30. In the weekly events, the top 38 players receive a monthly ticket meaning that there will be 152 players who are eligible for the November Freerollers Open with their monthly ticket.
