LUSPS Freerollers Set for Bumper Finale – Who Qualified This Week?

The Legal U.S. Poker Sites Freerollers Open has been full of action during August and this week saw another 21 players book their seats to the end-of-month finale where $500 will be up for grabs.

If you haven’t booked your seat yet, you’ve still got time to qualify in one of three daily freerolls on Legal U.S. Poker Sites, where a top prize of $180 will be awarded to the winner, with the runner-up winning $100. To the action so far this month, now, where 60 players have already booked their seats... will YOU be next?

What Can You Win in the LUSPS Freerollers Open?

The month of August will end with that $500 Freerollers Open final, where 87 qualifiers in total will do battle. On finals night, the final table of nine will make money, with eighth and ninth place winning $10, before the money ramps up considerably. Here are all the prize on offer on Sunday August 31 when 87 qualifiers will fight it out at the felt to reach the final nine and win one of these prizes:

  • 1st Place: $180
  • 2nd Place: $100
  • 3rd Place: $70
  • 4th Place: $50
  • 5th Place: $35
  • 6th Place: $25
  • 7th Place: $20
  • 8th Place: $10
  • 9th Place: $10

Making the Final in Style

It goes without saying that any way you qualify for free money is ideal. It doesn’t matter if you were a short stack and went on a sun run to make the cut, or led the qualifier from start to finish like an end boss. All that matters is that you punched your ticket. That said, we love it when a final hand decides the drama in an exciting fashion.

Here are our three favorite final hands from this week’s qualifiers from August 15th-21st inclusive.

1. KennyJones12345 vs. mosesw21

On August 15th, the last daily freeroll of the three on offer ended dramatically. ‘KennyJones12345’ was hoping to double-up in the final hand, getting all-in with the best of it pre-flop holding king-jack. The leader heads-up, ‘mosesw21’, however, had other ideas. Calling off the shove with ten-five, things looked bleak for the latter as a king came in the window, but the flop fell K-T-T to give mosesw21 trips! A five on the turn completed the most unlikely of full houses and after fading a king on the river, it was mosesw21 who made the final.

2. Sanga vs. msn087 vs. Saka

The very next night, a three-way all-in saw two players hit the rail and one go through to the final in style. Both ‘Sanga’ with ten-six and ‘msn087’ with king-four were at risk and were chasing cards when saka’s pocket eights were revealed.  A board of J-9-4-3-9 held hope for both at-risk players but saka’s snowmen failed to melt and stood firm to send them through.

3. balmond vs. Nana222

Finally, on August 20, ‘balmond’ correctly called off their stack with ten-six of hearts from the big blind. ‘Nana222’ had shoved with just three-four offsuit but if ‘Nana’ liked that hand for some reason, it was backed up, with A board of A-Q-4-4-K giving them three of a kind and ending the event in their favor.
