Ignition Poker Million Dollar Weekend

The name of this Ignition Poker online tournament series doesn’t do it justice.

A weekend usually consists of two days, but the Million Dollar Weekend runs from Thursday through Monday. A weekend tournament also makes one think that there might be just a few events, when, in fact, there are 30 tournaments in this series. It’s just wrapped into a five-day package.

Also, Ignition is guaranteeing $2.4M in payouts across the 25 events.

Range of Options

Ignition Poker occasionally hosts a Million Dollar Weekend when there are no other series on tap. This one is the first of 2023 and is starting strong.

This Million Dollar Weekend offers 30 tournaments and $2.4M in guarantees. It starts on Thursday, January 26, and it will conclude on Monday, January 30.

In addition to the actual numbered events in the series, there are numerous bonus tournaments with extra guarantees. They’re called Tune-Up tournaments, and several run daily. For example, there is a nightly $55 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Tune-Up with a $35K guarantee and a daily $55 buy-in with a $4K guarantee.

As for the series itself, there are several highlights that will take place on the actual weekend:

-Jan 29 at 6:20am ET:  (Event 19) $82 buy-in NLHE Early Bird Main Event ($15K GTD)

-Jan 29 at 2:20pm ET:  (Event 22) $109 buy-in NLHE Mini Main Event ($120K GTD)

-Jan 29 at 4:20pm ET:  (Event 23) $270 buy-in NLHE Main Event ($200K GTD)

There are other formats, such as turbo structures, high rollers, bounties (PKOs), monster stacks, and extra play events. And while most of the tournaments are NLHE, there are some Omaha events in the mix.

The action will then wrap on Monday, January 30, with a PLO Bounty event and NLHE Turbo.

Bargain Buy-Ins

While there is a range of buy-in levels throughout the series, many events offer higher buy-ins than most players can afford. That presents the best opportunity for satellites. The qualifiers are running now and start at just $27.50 to play.

Also, note that many of the tournaments will have satellites to give players the chance to buy-in at a bargain. When in the tournament lobby, simply set the filter to look for $M Weekend to find all satellites in play and those set for the rest of the weekend.
