Ignition Poker GSPO Set to Begin as NBA Series Continues

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on October 9th, 2023

It’s that time of year again. Sure, it is autumn. Beautiful weather abounds, and sweaters and boots return to the front of everyone’s closets. For online poker players, not much of that matters if there is a lucrative tournament series on tap.

Ignition Poker has it ready. It is the flagship Golden Spade Poker Open series, this time with more than $11M guarantees for 150 tournaments, all set to kick off on October 14.

And while they’re preparing to put the full GSPO schedule into the tournament lobby, players are staying busy with the NBA Season Tune-Up, a series that runs through October 23 in celebration of the start of the new NBA season.

GSPO’s 11th Anniversary

The Golden Spade Poker Open is celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, which means it will be the GSPO 11. Along with that comes $11M in guarantees across 150 tournaments.

It all kicks off on Saturday, October 14, and it will run for one month, not wrapping until Wednesday, November 15. Even better, the qualifiers and Tune-Up tournaments will begin on Tuesday, October 10.

The full schedule will be available in the poker lobby within a few days. In the meantime, there is a list of the four Main Event tournaments set for Sunday, November 12:

  • Event 133 at 8:11am ET:  $82 buy-in GSPO Early Bird Main Event ($11K GTD)
  • Event 134 at 2:11pm ET:  $109 buy-in GSPO Mini Main Event ($111K GTD)
  • Event 135 at 3:11pm ET:  $450 buy-in GSPO Main Event ($300K GTD)
  • Event 136 at 5:11pm ET:  $27.50 buy-in GSPO Micro Main Event ($21K GTD)

NBA Season Tune-Up Still Running

Ignition Poker likes to highlight the start of big sports seasons, and pro basketball is on tap. To celebrate the start of the 2023-2024 NBA season, Ignition is hosting the NBA Season Tune-Up, a series of events with $1.5M in guarantees. It started on October 2 and continues to October 23.

Some big events remain on the schedule, such as:

  • October 8 & October 15 (Sundays):  $162 NLHE w/$225K GTD & $325 NLHE PKO w/$100K GTD
  • October 10-23 (daily):  $82 NLHE KO w/$6K GTD & $109 NLHE Monster Stack w/$25K GTD
  • October 2-23 (nightly):  $55 PLO w/$8K GTD

Of course, there are satellites for the events to earn a seat at a discount.
