The third Las Vegas summer poker tournament series to compete with the 2022 World Series of Poker is out. The Golden Nugget on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas announced its annual Grand Poker Series, formerly known as The Grand.
As a refresher, we started with the 2022 WSOP with its late-February announcement. The Wynn Summer Classic schedule followed in late March. Within the last several days, the Venetian announced its DeepStack Championship Poker Series, and this will outline the Grand Poker Series.
Action will kick off for this series on May 31, the same day as the WSOP, and it will conclude at the beginning of July. Let’s see the details.
Grand Poker Series 2022
The Grand Poker Series is set for May 31 through July 3, 2022. There are 81 events in total, many with multiple starting days. The entire series will guarantee at least $3M in prize pools.
The buy-ins range from $125 to $1,100, the latter the highest by far and reserved for the Main Event at the end of June.
Only one tournament is in invitational only, and that is the Bar Poker Open Championship in mid-June. Players must qualify for that through participating bar leagues around the country. More than 30 are participating, and the prize pool is expected to reach $1M.
