Latest BetOnline COPS Starts September 24

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on September 28th, 2023

Every online poker site has a flagship tournament series, and BetOnline has its Championship Online Poker Series, also known as COPS. Sometimes, a good poker site can offer several iterations of this type of series throughout the year. BetOnline is ready with its autumn COPS, just in time to usher out summer and welcome the fall months.

Two full weeks of action will provide poker players with nearly 200 tournaments with a wide range of buy-ins and $3M in cumulative prize pool guarantees.

There will also be numerous opportunities to win seats via satellites and freerolls.

Let’s see what the series has in store.

2023 COPS – Autumn Edition

The Championship Online Poker Series is running from September 24 through October 8. The slate of 192 tournaments will offer mostly No Limit Hold’em variations but at least one Omaha option each day. More than ten events every day will welcome players of all bankrolls to the tables. Buy-ins start as low as $11.

As an example, check out the first day of events on Saturday, September 24, with all times listed as ET:

  • Event 1 at 1pm:  $22 NLHE ($50K GTD)
  • Event 2 at 1:30pm:  $109 NLHE ($200K GTD)
  • Event 3 at 3:30pm:  $215 NLHE Deep Stack ($50K GTD)
  • Event 4 at 4pm:  $55 NLHE Deep Stack ($30K GTD)
  • Event 5 at 5pm:  $11 NLHE Deep Stack ($10K GTD)
  • Event 6 at 7pm:  $33 NLHE PKO ($15K GTD)
  • Event 7 at 7pm:  $11 NLHE PKO ($5K GTD)
  • Event 8 at 7pm:  $109 NLHE Sunday Showdown ($100K GTD)
  • Event 9 at 8pm:  $11 Six-Card PLO ($2K GTD)
  • Event 10 at 9:40pm:  $22 NLHE Turbo PKO ($4K GTD)
  • Event 11 at 9:40pm:  $109 NLHE Turbo PKO ($10K GTD)

Notice that Event 2 already puts up a $200K guarantee. There are more with six-figure promised prize pools, as follows:

  • Event 90:  $109 NLHE ($250K GTD)
  • Event 96:  $109 NLHE Sunday Showdown ($100K GTD)
  • Event 184:  $109 NLHE Main Event ($300K GTD)
  • Event 188:  $109 NLHE Sunday Showdown ($100K GTD)

Freerolls and Satellites

Some of those COPS buy-ins look tough for players without substantial bankrolls. That is why satellites exist, and for this COPS series, the satellites start at just $1. Many players satellite their way in to the larger events.

There is another way to win in this series: All-In or Fold Freerolls. They will happen at 7pm ET every night starting on Day 2 of COPS.

Any player who competes in a COPS event and does not make it into the money wins a free seat to a freeroll on the following day. The daily All-In or Fold Freeroll will be at 7pm ET each night. The top 10 players in each freeroll will win a $109 seat, and those finishing the freeroll in 11th through 50th places will win a seat into the next Sunday’s $50K GTD event.

Players who bust from a tournament one day don’t even need to do anything. They will be automatically registered for the next day’s freeroll. And as long as players are logged in to BetOnline when the freeroll happens, they don’t have to watch the freeroll; just wait for the notification to tell them if they won a seat.

There are other rewards for players throughout the series – instant rewards.
