ACR Venom Nears with Hundreds of Seats to Win

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on November 8th, 2019
Americas Cardroom ACR Americas Cardroom hosted the first Venom in July 2019 and set records. The $2,650 buy-in onlne poker tournament offered three starting days and a massive $5 million prize pool guarantee. And when the entries were counted, the prize pool totaled $6,382,500. Not only was that a new record for an offshore poker site, the first-place prize of $1.05 million was paid to Rafael “TheBigKid” Moraes in cryptocurrency. That officially made the “Guinness World Record for Largest Cryptocurrency Winning Jackpot in an Online Poker Tournament.” With such success, Americas Cardroom quickly announced another one for later in 2019. And to up the ante, so to speak, the guarantee was to be $6 million. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1153411971024326657?s=20 As November kicks into gear, so do the satellites for the upcoming second iteration of Venom.

November Venom Details

The details are relatively straightforward. The buy-in is $2,650. The prize pool guarantee is $6 million, with $1 million of that guaranteed for the winner. Most importantly, though, is the schedule. There will be four possible starting flights over the course of 12 days to get players involved before several days to play down to the winner.
--Day 1A:  Wednesday, November 27 at 1pm ET --Day 1B:  Sunday, December 1 at 1pm ET --Day 1C:  Wednesday, December 4 at 11am ET --Day 1D:  Sunday, December 8 at 1pm ET --Day 2:  Monday, December 9 at 1pm ET --Day 3:  Tuesday, December 10 at 1pm ET --Day 4:  Wednesday, December 11 at 5pm ET
https://twitter.com/chatrevoked/status/1191808984547614720?s=20 The best part is that most players don’t have to buy in for the full price, as there are numerous satellites and qualifiers running throughout November and into December.

Cyclones, Skips, and Steps

ACR players are already familiar with fast-play Blitz games. As of November 14, they can play Cyclone tournaments. Players can start at whatever level they want, accumulate 5,000 chips to move to the next level, and make it all the way through Step 7 to win a Venom seat worth $2,650.
--Step 1:  $0.25 buy-in for 697 starting chips --Step 2:  $1.50 buy-in for 1,137 starting chips --Step 3:  $6.00 buy-in for 1,119 starting chips --Step 4:  $15.00 buy-in for 1,364 starting chips --Step 5:  $50.00 buy-in for 1,163 starting chips --Step 6:  $200.00 buy-in for 1,588 starting chips --Step 7:  $600.00 buy-in for 1,133 starting chips
Regular step tournaments are available without the fast-play aspect of Cyclone events. And the first step is free to enter. There are also skip tournaments that allow players to bypass one or more of the steps on the road to winning a $2,650 Venom seat. All of these steps and skips are listed here on the ACR website. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1190048333433384960?s=20

Mega Satellites

Satellites with guaranteed seats have been running since November 1 for as low as $6.61. The full schedule of mega satellites is listed here. For example, this Sunday, November 10, these options will be available:
--$16.51 mega with 2 tickets guaranteed --$15.01 mega with 10 tickets guaranteed --$630.01 mega with 25 tickets guaranteed --$215.01 mega with 5 tickets guaranteed
As the Venom start nears, more tickets will be guaranteed in the mega satellites each day. They will run through December 1.

Venom Challenge

Three popular Twitch poker streamers are participating in a challenge – the Venom Challenge. Michael Loncar, Ryan Depaulo, and John Pardy decided to take a friendly Twitter beef to the tables. Each started the challenge with no money in their bankroll. That means they must play Step 0 step tournaments and turn them into Venom seats. The player who wins the most seats is the victor. He will also choose what his competitors will wear on their Twitch streams – and how they will style their facial hair – for Day 1A of the Venom. https://twitter.com/ACR_POKER/status/1189967216831344640?s=20
