OSS and Historic Venom on ACR Poker Schedule

Written by Jennifer Newell
Last updated on February 5th, 2024

As January was coming to a close, ACR Poker was wrapping its first Venom tournament of 2024. It was the Venom PKO, the special progressive knockout version of ACR’s signature tournament, and it was the eighth edition of that Venom PKO.

The participation was outstanding, as the number of entries blew the $5M guarantee out of the water.

  • Entries:  2,839
  • Prize pool:  $7,097,500
  • Paid players: 357 (not including bounties)

The prize pool was split, as is normal for a PKO, with $3,548,750 for the top finishers and $3,548,750 for bounties. In the end, the final table produced a lot of action, and the last two players standing agreed to a chop, finishing it this way:

  • 1st place:  berodualn ($416,787 + $128,088 in bounties)
  • 2nd place:  niceoneee ($416,786 + $85,410 in bounties)

That brings us to the latest news that includes another Venom with a massive guarantee and the famous OSS (Online Super Series) kicking off for February.

Biggest Venom Ever

ACR Poker is feeling confident in its Venom abilities this year. That means the next one – the official and original Venom – is set for April with a $12.5M guarantee on that prize pool.

The buy-in will be the same as always - $2,650 – but will offer many satellite options that will start with freerolls. Players will be able to compete in any or all of the five starting flights, three of which will be on Sundays. While the satellite schedule is not yet available, the lineup for the actual Venom is:

  • April 14 (Sunday):  Day 1A
  • April 18 (Thursday):  Day 1B
  • April 21 (Sunday):  Day 1C
  • April 25 (Thursday):  Day 1D
  • April 28 (Sunday):  Day 1E
  • April 29 (Monday):  Day 2 – all Day 1 survivors join to play to the money
  • April 30 (Tuesday):  Day 3 – play continues to the final table
  • May 1 (Wednesday):  Day 4 – final table plays to a winner

Each day’s action will start at 1:05pm ET, with the exception of the final table starting at 4:05pm ET.

OSS with 207 Events

It’s going to be massive. The Online Super Series, best known as OSS, will kick off on February 12 and run through February 26. There will be an intense schedule with more than 207 events listed. Each tournament will have three buy-in levels – small, medium, and large – to accommodate players at all levels. And the series in total will guarantee $16M in prize money.

There are several Main Events to note and mark on your calendars:

  • Feb 25-26 (Event 6):  $215 buy-in NLHE Main Event ($500K GTD)
  • Feb 25-26 (Event 5):  $1,050 buy-in NLHE Main Event ($1M GTD)
  • Feb 11-26 (Event 1):  $630 buy-in NLHE Main Multiflight Event ($1M GTD)

Other highlights include extensive multiflight mystery bounty tournaments that already began flights at the end of January:

  • Jan 28-Feb 25 (Event 4):  $2.50 buy-in Mystery Bounty Multiflight Event ($75K GTD)
  • Jan 28-Feb 25 (Event 3):  $16.50 buy-in Mystery Bounty Multiflight Event ($200K GTD)
  • Jan 29-Feb 26 (Event 2):  $109 buy-in Mystery Bounty Multiflight Event ($750K GTD)

The full series contains everything from knockouts to bounties, reshuffles and deep stacks, 6-max and turbo structures. Players can choose from Hold’em and Omaha options. And there will also be special editions of regular events like the Early Special, Sunday WarmUp, Loncar and Boski Daily Doubles, and Lunch High Rollers.

The OSS Leaderboard competition will run February 12-26 as well. It will offer three separate leaderboards to cater to three levels of play:

  • Low Leaderboard:  $11 or less buy-ins ($1,500 + Venom seat for winner)
  • Medium Leaderboard:  $16.50 to $88 buy-ins ($2,500 + Venom seat for winner)
  • High Leaderboard:  $104.50 or higher buy-ins ($5K + Venom seat for winner)

Each leaderboard will pay the top five finishers at the end of OSS. Players don’t need to opt in, as simply playing the events will signal the system to put you on the appropriate leaderboard.
